100 Photos of SF Bay Area Top 100 Restaurants for 2014
We're a little, ummm, obsessed, here in the San Francisco Bay Area, about food. What to buy, how to cook it, where to buy it, where to dine out....you name it, we talk about it. Endlessly.
As Trulia.com found, "...(Trulia) released the Top Ten lists on Tuesday, revealing that San Francisco is far and away the place to be for eating out.
"Not only did San Francisco come in as number one with the most restaurants per capita, no other city even came close. At 39.3 restaurants per 10,000 households, San Francisco has nearly 50 percent more relative restaurants than the second place city."

SF is only 7 miles square, approximately, with 837,000 people (smaller than neighbor San Jose). Our local paper, the SF Chronicle, has a food critic whose pronouncements, however heavily debated, can in fact make or break a restaurant. Every year he does his Top 100, which over the last several years has actually totaled over that, when he had trouble whittling it down!
This year he did a fun slideshow of the "Top 100 Dishes from the Top 100 Restaurants". It spans the gamut of big fat roasted chickens to elegant spare tasting menu plates (there is also a link to his 2014 Top 100 Restaurants list within this article). For those of you who enjoy looking at food, whether to imagine what it tastes like or for the fun of inspiration, here's the link:
