Quadrafire Thermostat

flytyer22664October 29, 2007

I just purchased a classic bay 1200i insert about a month ago. I would like to put a programmable thermostat on it. The manual says it takes a 12 volt ac thermostat anyone have any suggestions on one.

I got some very useful answers in this thread.

My neighbor just called to say he has a package for me that got delivered to him instead. Must be the thermostat finally.

Here is a link that might be useful: programmable thermostats

Are you sure that the manual says 12 volts and not 24 volts? Most t-stats are 24 volts and they are supplied by a transformer somewhere that steps the 120 volt house current down to 24 volts.
