Why colder upstairs with 2 heat sytems?
I live in a two-story house with electric heat in Louisville, KY. It is only one-year old and has 2 heat and AC systems for each floor. My question is why is it always colder upstairs in the winter if heat is supposed to rise? (Same goes for summer...it's always hotter upstairs, but I get that.) The worst room is (of course) above the garage. We do have a vaulted ceiling in the master, but all other rooms are normal. The windows are only "builder grade," but we have been told by several folks that we have lots of insulation in the attic.
I don't trust the builder HVAC folks as they don't really have an answer for me of what is going on. Also, neighbors have said they are not great and others have had some issues...just not the exact same as ours. I just think for a brand new house with TWO heat systems and AC systems that it should be warmer than it is.
