paint colour for laundry room

anotherwhitekitchenJune 14, 2010

Hi all -

We are doing a full reno of our main floor, kitchen, flooring, everything. We are painting the majority of the house a light creamy colour (BM Indian White. I love colour, but the creamy colour looks best with what we are doing elsewhere. So the compromise my DH and I have come up with is I get to paint the laundry room something fun and bright.

We purchased the cobalt blue LG steam washer and dryer, and have white cabinetry in the laundry room and kitchen.

I was thinking a nice sunny yellow, but don't want one that is too painful on the eyes.

Tee Hee - My color may not work for you, but I too wanted something fun and bright. Behr's Sea Song is currently topping my list. Isn't it pretty? :-)

Yep! White cabs and appliances it will be. I kept going around on the appliance color - red, blue, etc. Then, I found this color and decided that with white appliances I could have any color I wanted. Although.... How would silver appliances look? Seriously - do I need to worry about the white appliances clashing with the BM White Dove I have planned??? Oh no! :-0

my laundry is lavender - three shades - lighter on top, and darker bottom half, and very dark by the entrance door and sink area; with a wide white "chair rail" like line between

it is kitchen/bath type paint, so I can scrub it and it looks great 3 years later

Cobalt blue appliances, white cabinets

Sure sounds like a light yellow would look good. Pick a VERY PALE chip, because it goes day-glo easily.

Paint the room a terra-cotta color with bone color trim. Leave the cabinets white. It will be striking!
