Shrubs Around AC Unit

bjb817September 4, 2011

In conjunction with my previous post, what's the minumum separation advisable between the ac unit and shubbery? There's large shrubs on two sides of the unit only inches away. I've kept the branches trimmed back so they don't actually touch the unit. Thoughts?

Most brands would recommend 18-24" clearance both sides for airflow and ability to service.

And full clearance above condenser top.

Don't know the specs but consider the impact of snow and ice on the shrubs and how a large load of winter wonder may cause the shrubs to become a factor.
