Complicated Quote for Carrier A/C + Radiators and Underfloor
Here is our quote for the HVAC for a renovation --- complicated? Not sure but seems so since it is costing 35K. Is this reasonable for the Washington, DC area? The addition is a 3 floor addition [first. second. attic.) adding 100 sq ft to a 1600 sq ft house. See floorplan for the addition below [highlighted in yellow]. Please help me figure out what a reasonable cost is!
Furnish and install one Carrier condensing unit model Infinity series 24ANA1 or 24ANA2 with one air handler model FX4DNF043. Provide ductwork as discussed [using in master bedroom closet and along coffers in family room] with three zones (1st floor and basement, 2nd floor and 3rd floor) and four Honeywell Pro 5000 thermostats [each operational for both heating and a/c]. Toe kick heaters in kitchen are on a separate thermostat.
Provide radiant heating with aluminum fins for better heat disbursement as discussed. Run floor radiant heat for family room, mudroom, powder room, master bathroom and 2nd floor bath room only.
Re-use two radiators in basement, three radiators on 3rd floor. Supply and install two new toe-kick radiators in kitchen, one new thin profile radiator for master bedroom, one new window seat height radiator for 3rd floor, one new radiator for Bedroom #2.
Contract will include Panasonic Whisper 80cfm bath fans [FV-08VRL1 in powder room, and water closet and FV-08VQL5 in the master shower and the attic bath and hall shower] , fresh airvent, hood range vent of 600 CFM.
TOTAL Thirty Five Thousand ******************$35,000.00
WarmBoard Underfloor Option:
OPTION 1: WBR in the first floor of the addition [family room, powder room, mudroom] and two bathrooms on the 2nd floor: $4950.00
Q1. Is this a reasonable cost?
Q2. Should we ask for a separate quote for A/C versus Heating and Ventilation?
Q3. Is Warmboard a superior product to regular PEX underfloor heat?
Q4. Do we need the Infinity Control thermostats?
Thanks for the advice!
