VCT/Luxury vinyl tile in laundry/mudroom?

aurorasurApril 22, 2013

Hi! I am cross posting this in flooring also.

We are building a house that will have hardwoods except that we think either tile or VCT/LVT would work better in our combo mudroom/laundry. We have 3 messy boys. Tile is so hard for me to keep clean especially the grout so I lean towards vinyl but I'm afraid it will look and feel cheap. Anyone had experience with VCT or LVT? Good, bad, ugly?
Here are some VCT/LVT pics from houzz:

My laundry and mudroom has porcelain tile which has held up superbly. There is large-scale porcelain tile now that hardly has grout lines and even can be wood-look if you like. Budget permitting, I'd use that over vinyl.
