Honeywell VisionPro IAQ

I had the following Trane system put in with subject Stat..

Its a two story 1900sqft house.

HP 4TWX5036A1000AB

Furnace TDD2B060A9V3VAA

The installer set the cooling limit to 68 degrees. Is there a good reason for this??

The dehumidification control is not on. If I turn it on will it work with this setup?

 what is your location?
does HW VP IAQ stat have outdoor sensor? just curious.
individually, the components are top of line. As a system, the efficiency numbers can only be decribed as poor.

One of the best features of this stat is the DOD feature, "dehumidify on demand". If your themostat is not set up for DOD, then you basically paid for a premium stat without taking advantage of its features.
Comfort R should be disabled and the DOD set up properly to handle the humidity in your home. It's one or the other. The main problem is having a tech with the knowledge to set it up.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just a home owner that thought trane was a good choice but it sounds like I may have made a mistake. I wish I hac found this site before the purchase. What does the numbers mean that you posted? I talked to the installation tech and he is not familiar with DOD. Do you have any instructions if its simple?

Here is the manual for the Honeywell VisionPRO IAQ. Page 18 explains how to set the dehumification function.

This should work with your set up. The thermostat will contiune to run the AC until the humidity set point is reached. It may go up to 3 degrees below the temperature set point to achieve this.

Running the AC below 68 degrees for long periods of time could cause damage. It is set up as a safety precaution.
