kenmore dryer-HE2

rockingjwolfFebruary 21, 2013

I have a Kenmore gas HE2 dryer. I have owned it since new. age of dryer--6 yrs. My question is.. this dryer never seemed to get hot like some of the older dryers did. I checked the ductwork on interior and brushed and vac'd the best I could, and also ran hard pipe for vent, total of about 6' of pipe and 3 elbows. Is there an adjustment to be made that will increase the actual temp of air? Maybe this is just how these work. It runs a long time to dry a load of clothes. thanks, jeff

Jeff. DH repairs appliances. He says every elbow decreases efficiency by 15 percent. Check the outside of the house to make sure there is nothing obstructing the vent, birds etc. If all vents are clear and free there may be a thermostat problem. Is there flexible hose to the hard pipe? Maybe you can cut some out of that. Hope this helps.
