Knitted Christmas Stockings

valvDecember 26, 2006

In the early 1980's, I found patterns for 4 knitted Christmas stockings in the shape of a white ice skate with a red sock, a black ballerina shoe with flesh-colored leg, a football shoe with a striped sock and a basketball shoe with a checkered sock. The stockings were approximately a yard long from toe to top of sock. These were found in some womans magazine but I don't remember which one. I knitted the stockings and then lost the patterns. Does anyone still have the patterns for these four Christmas stockings.

This sounds just like a stocking my husband had as a kid. I would love to make the basketball one for him next christmas. His sister had an ice skate one too. Have you had any luck finding the pattern? Would love to know if you did.

reply to colhitch: I have not had any luck in finding the pattern. It is too bad; they were really cute stockings.
