back-cross crochet stitch

Can someone explain the back-cross stitch to me. I know it is............ skip next st, dc in next st, insert hook from back to front in skipped stitch, dc...................but then what. How do I repeat.

Then you would skip the double crochet you just made, skip the next stitch, and dc in the next stitch. Then insert the hook from back to front in the skipped stitch, dc.....
