Help with a pattern

starbright_2007October 10, 2007

I am knitting a pattern and I am stumped by a particular part of it. Could someone please explain the following to me. It reads as follows: p1, k2, in next st [k1, (p1, k1) twice, pass first 4 sts over last st], k2 p1. I would appreciate the help.

Thank you!

It sounds like a bobble to me. If you knit, purl, knit, purl, knit in the same stitch you have 5 stitches, then pass the first 4 over the last stitch, back to one stitch again. It makes a little ball for the pattern without increasing stitches. Much easier if you have stretchy yarn.
