What's the best method to block bamboo yarn? I just finished half a project (one armwarmer), and would like to figure out how to block it properly before I start the second.
what is bamboo yarn? I've never heard of it.
It's just yarn made out of bamboo fibres. I'm not sure how it's made, I s'pose in a similar way to cotton.
It's very unyielding, but slippery. It's like working with cotton, that's been greased up. If you can imagine that.
Here is a link that might be useful: Southwest Trading Co. Bamboo
I can't be of any help, Kit. I've only used bamboo yarn (love the way it feels) for hats that didn't require any blocking. Are you knitting or crocheting with it? Does the armwarmer really look as if it needs blocking? I would think that once the armwarmer is put on someone's arm it's going to pretty much form to the arm, thereby not requiring blocking at all.
Thanks for the link. How interesting! !
Knitting. Yes, it looks like it needs blocking. I'd really just like to even out my stitches, because they're a bit... icky looking in places.
