Patons & Baldwins Canada Pattern-1985

mahi55July 4, 2009

I have a vest that I would like to make. The pattern book is Beehive "The Best Vests Ever Volume 11 - Pattern 5" I am having trouble as some of the yarns that they are suggesting to use have been discontinued. There are 4 different types of yarn suggested to be used in the pattern -

1.Beehive Shetland Chunky with Mountain Wool 9351

2. Jaeger Cotton Flamme 74

3. Patons Siberia 2188

4. Beenive Shetland Chunky with Montain Wool 9340.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any Chunky yarn should be a good substitute for the Beehive Shetland Chunky. The Jaeger Cotton Flamme is a DK weight yarn. I could not find a weight for the Patons Siberia, but I did find that a #5 knitting needle is suggested. Here is a link to a photo of some of that yarn.

Here is a link that might be useful: Flamme

I am so happy to have found you...I have a sweater i'm doing from "Beehive fun & games" from 1986...I'm doing the sweater titled Hearts or Diamonds, my dilemma is that I would like to do a size 12 but it only goes up to a size 8...If you could help me I would be greatly appreciated...

I would like to ask a question. If I have purchased a pattern book, would it be okay for me to share the patterns? Thank you, Dorothy

The books usually have something written in small print regarding reproducing them.

Sharing bought patterns violates copyright laws so legally you can't buy a leisure arts afghan book then scan and send the patterns to other people. Mary
