Anybody here know how to thrum????

sheilajoyce_gwMay 28, 2008

DS came home last weekend with a bag of rovings for me from the sheep farm he invested in (one share!). Now I want to make him some thrummed bed socks/slippers as he is cold in his new apartment. The last place was too hot because the radiator pipes for the building went through his room along the ceiling. He never turned the heat on and often had the window open in winter. So I think he became a hot house plant the last few years.

Anyone here have experience using rovings to thrum? I googled it, but am amazed that the directions I found said to use 3 or 4 inch chunks of it. So I am looking for practical advice, and a pattern if anyone has one.

Family and I are heading off to NYC in the morning and his graduation, but will be back by Sunday.
