Old Crochet Thread Information

gengenzMarch 23, 2012

Please, If anyone has information on an old crochet thread, called Gloucester(sp) Sport Cotton? I started an afghan with a pattern from a kit (No.2409-01 "Rose Filet") that used acrylic thread. I was given the instructions only, and started it with the cotton thread. Does anyone know how many yards were in a ball of the sport cotton? I want to start over, and make this for My Mother. but need to know how much thread I need, So I need to know how many yards were in the cotton thread. I hope this makes sense? In the instructions, a size D hook, with a starting chain of 66, would measure 9 1/2". Three spaces = 1". 3 rows = 1". 1 finished square = 9" Hopefully, gengenz.
