Wax Paper extinct !?
I live in Southern California. In the past week, I have gone to Safeway (Vons), Ralphs, and Target looking for basic, plain old *wax paper*. None of them carried it. A box of Cut-Rite has been a staple in my kitchen for 50 years (but I usually buy several boxes at a time and keep some in the pantry, so I haven't tried to buy it in a while). Googling, I find that Cut-Rite is owned by Reynolds and they apparently still make the product. But why aren't the stores offering it for sale?
Is wax paper now considered outdated? Are they trying to say that parchment paper will serve all our needs now? (It doesn't!) Any ideas?
