old customs prompt joy

Recalling that a custom stemming from the Pentateuch was for the homeowners to clean thoroughly their house prior to Passover, I decided to just forget all the last minute shopping and do what I have been craving to do - clean out and clean up. Though I have way too much still to do in this arena before Christmas - I gotta say - it is so invigorating - and in keeping with the Advent theme of "preparing the way".

Wish me luck in actually making deadline to have my son's room and a guest room for his girlfriend (now a substitute attic!) all ready and maybe even inviting!!

Good luck. I just did a major clean out of everything I had packed up from the old kitchen. I was brutal and really got rid of a lot of stuff I never use and will donate it to Goodwill. The rest of the house could use a purge too. Maybe next year! ;>)
