Trying to finish baby afghan edging

socksFebruary 24, 2008

I'm finishing up a baby afghan, and the edging called for is half-double reverse crochet. I just cannot make it look like anything pretty, and it's so awkward to do.

Any other suggestions for a pretty edging? I know I can make a scalloped edge with 3 hdc's in one stitch, but maybe something different?

How about the reverse single crochet (also known as crab stitch) followed by a row of single crochet interspersed with picots?

I love picots for edging. Easy to make, and cute too. They can be the last row to finish off another type of edge. Sc in next 5 sts, ch 3, sc in 1st stitch of the chain. Repeat around. Allow for turning the corner so it won't pull, as you would do with any edging.
