Does anyone have any comments about Knit Picks interchangeable needles? How do they compare to Addi?
I have both. I like them equally. The cable on the KnitPicks Options is as soft/flexible (maybe even MORE soft/flexible) as the Addis. And a lot less expensive.
I don't have any Addi Turbos to compare by, but I do have the knit picks needle set. I really like them a lot. They are smooth and have a nice point to them. Plus they are pretty to look at! The cables are great, no coiling at all.
Anyone know how long the actual needle is on the Knit Picks?
The tip that screws into the cable is 3.5". The piece that the tip screws into is another 1". 4.5" once it's assembled and that is a good length, IMO.
I can't use metal needles because it aggravates the arthritis or rheumatism that's starting to make itself known in my hands, so I got the KP Harmony woods interchangables and I love them. They are super-slick for woods, but light and warm in my hands. The joins are smooth and snag-free and I like the flexible cables.
Another great thing about KP is that they have awesome customer service so if you ever do have a problem, be sure to let them know because they will replace the faulty needle free of charge.
I've noticed that if you buy the interchangeable Addi or Knit Picks, there is no 16" cable. Isn't that a disadvantage?
My Knit Picks set came with two 16" cables and two 24".
