Laminate floor repair

criticalmass048December 10, 2011

I think I already know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway.

Had a roof leak a few months ago. Of course, before we had a chance to see it, get towels and buckets, and find a roofer, the water had a chance to seep into the cracks of the laminate floor.

The damage isn't TOO severe, but there's a section where the joints are swelling up. Looks horrible when the light shines at the right angle.

Anything I can do besides rip the floor up?

Check with your laminate manufacturer to see if it supports board replacement. Ask for detailed instructions or a document explaining it. All laminate flooring is not created equally so it isnt something that can be explained easily without knowing your product and installation specifics.
