Newly refinished hardwood floor look waxy/some bumps? (pics)

Im a little confused by 3 attempts?
The floor wont look "right" after the first coat of poly.

Most pros will do a sealer or stain followed by 2-3 coats of urethane.

So what do you mean 3 attempts? Did he sand abd restain 3 different times?

That is what satin looks like. Give the color and the amount of light it can give it the waxy look

For a 100 yr old floor the color looks consistent in your pixs which is good.
As far as the bumps in the finish. It doesnt look bad but im only going off the pics you posted.
I dont want to sut here and tear apart your flooring guy. But your floor looks decent for 100 yrs old.

I do not see any finish defects, I see and old floor.
