how to glue molding for laminate floor?

hifixerNovember 4, 2012

We installed laminate flooring in our condo bedroom. The walls are concrete so we have to glue the quarter-round molding to the wall instead of nailing it. Furthermore, the walls have a rough texture to them. What kind of glue should be used? How do we account for the rough texture of the wall since there will be gaps between the molding and the wall?

The molding itself is not perfectly straight and is not fully a quarter of a round, so it's going to be difficult to keep it against the wall as the glue dries and there will be a gap between the floor and molding. Any suggestions on how to deal with these issues?

No, we're not putting baseboards, just the quarter-rounds

Heavy duty construction adhesive would do it. It's thick enough that it'll do fine on the rough concrete. Read the label and find one that adheres to concrete.

You could hold the molding against the walls with a few concrete blocks pressed up against them. And you can caulk any gaps, both along the top edge and the bottom one.
