Gas vs Heat Pump in Tampa, Fl

I live in a 2800 sq ft home in Tampa area. Need to replace system. Have heat pump now for heat and air. Have natural gas in our neighborhood. Someone suggested a hybrid gas/air system. What should I do? Install price is about the same. My husband is not sold on gas heat. I hate the "cold" heat from the heat pump we have now.

run the numbers on attached fuel calculator.

based on your area/climate, I think gas heat or dual fuel is overkill and that a high eff HP system is best choice.

how old is existing system? today's HPs are as different as night and day to the older mdls.
