less-common furnace brand?

Anyone hear of Gibson furnaces? One heating guy has given us an estimate based on a small, single stage Gibson for our 1700 sq. ft. house. (I am planning to get estimates from other vendors with other brands.)

Be aware Gibson is an old appliance brand whose name only is used in Nordyne's umbrella appliance HVAC brands. Not very familiar with them. I personally would stay clear but others have had success. Usually considered a second tier brand under a dealer's main brand.

I would suggest looking at Rudd/Rheem HVAC. Not always cutting edge but solid equipment that is underrated and overlooked in the residential HVAC market.

Perhaps others can offer their opinions.
