Strongest non-slip floor for laundry room

sirenacSeptember 18, 2011

I purchased some sample tiles for my laundry room/mud room floor and realized how slippery some would be when they got wet. What other options do I have for a DURABLE (there is a large fridge in the room and moving it for cleaning tore the current linoleum) and SAFE floor? Thanks.

Stay away from the "designer" stuff. Large tile companies like Dal and American Olean make non slip versions of some of their product lines. Also don't go with to large a tile. Grout lines add to the safety of these tiled areas. A laundry should be about function. Pick a nice basic tile that is safe.

Small mosaic tiles! No bigger than 2"x2", Your feet will grip it because of the grout lines.

Like a shower floor, mosaics are the old timers rule for non-slip.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm looking into my options and am glad to have these things to consider. :-)
