Heating Ducts with taped shut opennings

harry_wildFebruary 2, 2012

I have a several ducts that got openned by the heat funace that a duct cleaning company did while they access the ducts to clean. They used aluminium tape to patch around the edges to put the square sheet metal pieces back.

Should I get this replace when I install a new HVAC system? Does this cause any noise or flow issues?

As long as it is well sealed it is fine.

Much appreciated!

The looks of the rentangled vents taped up might lower the resale value of the home in the future; so I will see how much they ask for replacing them; but it only two sections; so I do not expect more then a couple of hundred dollars but well will see since I doing new furnace and AC and maybe the heater too.
