AVON Foot Works Intensive Callus Cream questions

LibbyLizJuly 8, 2009

I apologize if this isn't the right place for my post, but I was unsure if it dealt more with health versus beauty.

So anyhow...

Does anyone have a tube of the Intensive Callus Cream item that you can "read" off the back label to me?

I bought the Cracked Heel Repair Cream thinking I could use it continuously as a deep moisture treatment overnight. I didn't know it was medicated with Benzalkonium Chloride .13% & Lidocaine 4%, per the top back of the tube.

It also has a childproof cap, which isn't visible on the picture of the item, which only shows the tube front.

And on the back of the tube there's a warning of:
Do not use
\* longer than 1 week unless directed by a doctor

This isn't told about in any of the reviews, that I could find.

My rep can't get a straight answer out of whomever she's been writing to about the Intensive Callus Cream; AVON headquarters? I also can't find my answers on the website.

I need to know if the Intensive Callus Cream is also medicated AND if I have to stop use of this cream after a certain amount of time unless directed by a doctor, OR is it non medicated & can be used continuously?

I don't want to have to purchase the Deep Moisture Cream too if the Intensive Callus Cream will serve dual purpose as a callus eliminator/moisturizer.

Thanks in advance for replies!

the 4% lidocaine makes it medicated. I don't think you should plan on using it continously.

So the Intensive Callus Cream has 4% lidocaine too?! UGH

My rep has been trying to get a straight answer out of someone, at headquarters perhaps, & all the guy will say is use it twice a day!

You can call AVON yourself on a 800 # and get the answer. AVON is usually very careful what they sell for an extended use. Maybe your rep is not really calling. I sold it for over 10 years. It is not headquarters, but a number that your rep's manager has that deals with what is in the product.

I found an AVON store locally (run by a district rep) & called. The gal read the back of the tube to me. It's fine to use continuously.

Hi, Libbyliz. Funny to find this here today. I just watched the Oprah program today with Dr. Oz and a skin specialist (summer rerun)and they talked about cracked heals. Skin gal said to use a Stridex pad--yes, the Acne medicine--followed by a good slathering of Vaseline or thick skin cream. Cover with socks and leave on overnight. Continue use and you'll never have cracked heals again she said.

I've soaked, sloughed off the dead dry skin and applied Vaseline and socks overnight and it really works, so was wondering if adding Stridex would make a difference. And I'd think, use as needed.
