Hardwood Floor Help

caseykeesAugust 28, 2012

I am not sure if I have asked help with this here or not.

I removed the original hardwood flooring out of our spare bedroom. Unfortunately, when I got to the threshold, the pieces go all the way across the hallway under the carpet. I do not know what to use to cut these pieces so they are flush so I can install the laminite I purchased. this is the only thing that is keeping me from finishing this project and I am at a total loss. ideas???

Thanks in advance.

Kathy

You need an oscillating saw like the Fein Multimaster (or Supercut) with the appropriate blade. That will allow you to make a plunge cut into the floor and cut close to the door frame. Starting with a circular saw will speed the process.

You'll have a transition piece between the hardwood and laminate so you'll have a little room for error. Most better rental stores will have a Fein.
