How to keep foot injury from making back hurt???

storygardenerJune 11, 2006

I have a torn muscle in my foot. It's been wrapped, etc. by the podiatrist. But, the change in my gait makes the small of my back hurt. Any ideas on how to avoid this?

Nope. However, I bet the doctor told you to stay off it as much as possible. That would help. A cane might help as it would help you maintain your balance without relying 100% on your back muscles. Try both sides until you find which one helps the most.
