Self leveling compound over subfloor under carpet?
We just started baby steps in a small 2-bedroom condo remodel (circa 1990) and are still in the poking/planning stages.
I pulled up a corner of carpeting in the dining/living room area just to take a look and was confronted with what I think must be self-leveling compound under the carpet/pad.
I don't know a lot about the building itself but we're on the second floor and I'm pretty sure the floors are wood and not slab.
Is this (or was this, since the carpet is the original builder's flooring) a normal thing to do over a wood subfloor?
Will we have to do anything to the subfloor to ready it for new carpet when the time comes?
