lemon juice and hot water for regularity?
I have read that lemon juice and hot water is good for stimulating the bowel. My college age daughter is home for break and wants help retraining to go first thing in the morning. Right now she gets the urge at inconvenient times, like the middle of a class. She's not constipated; goes every other day, which is normal for her.
My grandmother always made us kids drink hot lemon and water first thing in the morning, before anything else. She had us chug it down as fast as possible. I didn't remember this until reading it recommended recently.
What I don't remember is if there needs to be sugar or honey in it, or the proportions. How much lemon to how much water, etc.
