Floating Cork on Uneven hardwood floors

KitchenMonkeyJuly 11, 2014

I'm considering cork for my kitchen floor, but the existing old hardwood floors, although in good shape, are both uneven and unlevel.

Is it possible to install floating cork on top of hardwood? I don't want to take out the existing hardwood because I want to preserve it in case I want hardwood again in the future.

The underlying surface has to be flat within specifications. Otherwise over time the integrity of the tongue and groove mechanism will become damaged. What does the manufacturer say in regards to flatness tolerance?
