ma28March 29, 2007

Hi all-

I am new to this forum......

A background info on me:

I am 29 yrs old and had a scared about two/three months ago when I went to see my physician and was told that I may have cervical cancer. The biopsy came out negative, and now two months later, they had found another mass....

About 15 yrs ago, my mother left and I never knew whatever happen to her. Now that I may have cancer, I think its time to find my mother and hatch all bad moments...

I don't really know where to start looking......Can anyone give me advice.

All I know is that she may be living in VA with her sister.

part of me wants to know why she left and never looked back and a part of me don't want to know.

Please help~~~

If this post doesn't belong here.....I apologize.

Hi Maria,

It's not that your post doesn't belong here (grief takes many forms), but I'm thinking you might get more of a response on a different kind of forum. I wish I knew of one to suggest.

Meanwhile, you could try one of the people-search site. I've linked Zabasearch below; to find others, Google "people search."

I wish you the best of luck in your search and with your health.

Take a look at the site, listed below, and see if it would be of value. Scroll to the bottom, and on the right are some headings. Go to the home page and look around. Good luck and GOD bless you!

I went to google.com and put in the following words: trying to find birth-mother. I got many hits. You might also try google.com.

I'm not sure about this, but I thought I read once that the Salvation Army helps people find each other. You could call your local unit and ask. If they cannot help you, maybe they could give you some suggestions of where to go.
It may take some digging and some time. If you go into it knowing that the results could be good or bad, then I say go for it.

I'm very sorry about your health issues and know you must feel so frightened. I hope you'll keep us posted here on how it goes. Take care.

Best wishes,

Susan
