Craftsman Garage Door Opener Problems

winchester7327December 11, 2008

I recently bought a new GDO remote, got it programmed and working fine along with the keypad, which I had to reprogram. I have come home in the middle of day to find the garage door open, knowing that it was closed when I left in the morning. I believe one of the neighbors' garage door remotes is working on my opener as well as theirs. Is this possible and can I reprogram all of my remotes to stop this from happening? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The odds against your neighbors remotes opening your door is just astronomical. The most common cause of this is a staple in the wiring to the wall control that has cut through the insulation and is shorting intermittently. The other cause is the door closing too far, hitting the floor and reversing. This can also be intermittent. When you are leaving home make yourself watch the door until it is closed and you will eliminate this second possibility.
