Craftsman garage door opener

lunsh95December 27, 2006

When I try to open my garage door the light comes on and the motor turns on as if it were opening, but the door does not open. Could it be that it is off the track? Is this hard to fix? Thank you for your help.

I think you will find the drive gear is stripped. Take off the cover and look at the front of the motor. It is a white nylon gear.
