concrete floor problem
We are building a home and want to have concrete floors in the daylight basement, just in the family room area. I understand the need for a 2" wall of foamcore-type insulation around the perimeter of the stem walls; however with the implementation of new energy codes for our state, you can no longer pour concrete over the foamcore so that the concrete touches the stem wall. So what I'm left with is a 2" strip of baby blue foamcore along the edge of the floor.
I need some ideas on how to cover it so I can leave the floor bare. In the bedrooms it won't be a problem, as they'll have carpeting. Help!
The photo in the link is looking down from above the floor. The actual floor is at the bottom of the pic, then the foamcore, then the stemwall. There will obviously be a 1/2" of drywall attached to the framing you see on the left. (Sorry I couldn't figure out how to attach a photo.)
