Garage door closing problem

I'm having trouble with my garage door opener. I recently had the torsion springs (I think thatÂs what they're called) replaced, because one of them broke. Since then the garage door opener is having difficulty opening and closing, but more trouble closing. You see it struggle when it first goes to open the door, but when it closes the guide bar for the trolley bows way up during the last foot or so of travel. Then the door goes back up because of to much pressure.

At first I thought the guide bar got bent when the spring broke, so I took the whole guide bar apart and everything is good. I found shortly after that if I push down on the garage door while itÂs closing that the guide bar doesnÂt bend, and the door goes down smoothly.

That said, I'm wondering if the new springs are not providing the right amount of help, and need to be either tightened, or loosened. Would this be a correct assumption, and should I have the spring installers come back out to correct the problem?

Get the installers back. The springs are mis-adjusted.
