New Garage Drains

altoSeptember 15, 2008

We are building a new house with an attached garage. In our last garage we had 2 drains in a 4 car garage. We were thinking about a trough drain. Has anyone put one in? Any issues/concerns?

Trench drains are nice. Either get the epoxy-coated CI units or Poly plastic ones to keep them nice looking. They should have strainers in them also.

Make sure the concrete finisher understands the difference in creating proper slopes versus a floor with a round floor drain

The downfall to these is they are dirt and garbage collectors and should be cleaned on occasion.
