radiant heat/wood flooring
We are installing a wood flooring over our sub-floor. Our issue is that we will also be installing a radiant heat system below this flooring, in between the floor joists. The normal procedure for installing wood flooring is to lay a petroleum-based paper product between the wood flooring and the sub-floor as a noise reducer. However, we have learned this is a bad idea given that when the floor heat comes on the radiant system will cause the paper-product to off-gas toxic petroleum gases. Any suggestions as to what else we might use for noise-reduction? We are specifically looking for something that is nontoxic. thanks!
