need medium to high end sofa recommendations

maisoui1September 4, 2010

Hi all. We need to get 2 new sofas/loveseats for our family room. I want quality and value. Must be comfortable. I want something that is going to last as I tend to keep big ticket items for a long time. We have a 5 year old son so we have to consider him as well. I had a Rowe sofa before - total junk. Hated it from it come in the house. We have Welsey Hall sofa and chairs in the living room. We liked the design of the pieces but the decorative pillows and back cushions were not well made - zippers didn't lie flat for example, flattened in maybe a year and we don't even use them. I don't want the most expensive or very top of the line but medium to high end. Any suggestions on a brand?

Thanks

you really need to check out the products made by McNeilly Furniture. their website address: www.mcneillyfurniture.net. the comfort of their furnitre is truly wonderful and the drawing card for me is: it is made in america, no imports. they stand behind their products.

I had similar requirements, too. I'd rather buy something to last than shop for new furniture every 5 years. We just purchased 3 sofas from CR Laine. We also consider Lee Industries. Also, I have 2 slipcovered chairs from a smaller furniture company called 4 Seasons Furniture. They make a really nice product. We have 4 kids and a great dane puppy, so our furniture has to hold up. They are the Bailey chairs in chocolate velvet and I just ordered some in a nubby latte color linen. I didn't price Hickory Chair, but I know they are high-end and fabulous.

I'll second Lee Industries - well made (in US!) and comfy -

Hancock & Moore is another option

Higher end? Sherrill, Henredon, Century Furniture.

Also, Baker Furniture.
