garage doors need glass or acrylic panels to allow light to enter

savannahtJuly 23, 2011

We are about to put garage doors in our carport. We need light in the area so the panels must be clear. I see that some garage door companies have either a glass or acrylic option for the panels. Does anyone have experience with either? Which is best and why? Thanks

Acrylic will become less transparent over time, but will not break as easily or into as many pieces as glass.
Tempered glass will not break as easily as regular window glass, but is more expensive.
