The importance of mudding, taping and painting insulated garages
I am interested on opinions regarding the importance of taping, mudding and painting an insulated garage that is NOT attached to a home. Garage is for the car and a workshop / storage. Not planning to sell or renovating the garage for selling purposes.
1. Is it important for structure?
2. Does it make a difference for heat retention? We live in Ontario and have a cold winter.
3. Rather than drywall all the way to the ground, we are attaching 5" pressure treated around the bottom in case of water entering the garage. Would paint make a big difference in terms of preventing damage?
4. If we do not paint, tape a mud right away, can we do it in 5 years or will the walls be too dirty?
Thanks very much for you time!
