Garage door could not be fully closed

yibingJuly 20, 2008

I moved to a new house recently and was able to get the remote control to work for the two garage doors. However, One of my garage door recently could not be closed fully and I have to hit the button again to let it stop there before the door touched the ground. Otherwise, the door will open again. I double checked and there is nothing blocking the door to close and I can manually close the door without any problem.

I guess there might be some security features I am not aware of and I really hope that I can fully close that door.

Hope someone can offer me some help or clues.

I'm a little confused but what I think you are saying is the door hits the floor and reverses to the open position. If this is true you need to find the 'down limit' control which is located on the side of the motor unit. Using a small screwdriver turn this control in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. You will have to tweak it a bit I am sure. Let me know if I am wrong about your problem.
