Craftsman 1/2 hp Garage door opener trouble

lipripperJuly 1, 2007

My house was struck by lightning and one of my garage door openers (Craftsman 139.53977SRT) no longer works. After an hour of truble shooting I ave discovered that the motor is good, the wired remote wireing is good the sensors are working and alighned. I can get the opener to run in the down direction but only for a few seconds and then the light will blink 10 times. it will not rin in the up direction at all. ?????

Any time the main lights blink 10 times it is a sensor problem. They are either misaligned or you have a wiring problem. Is the light on both sensors lit? When the lights blink does the door return to the open position or does it not move at all?
