Is 3/4 HP Garage Door FASTER?

jeannettecJuly 22, 2007

I just had a steel 8x18 garage door (in sections) installed. I'm using a 1/2 HP Liftmaster opener. It lifts the large garage door well enough but it is slow. I must wait 6 or 7 seconds for the bottom of the garage door to clear my head so I can walk around to get in my car. I know a 3/4 HP opener is stronger but would it raise the door faster?

It is exactly the same speed. Just install the keypad 6 or 7 seconds away from the door.
