My New Lyptus Fire Hardwood Floors

tamdave123April 14, 2012

Hello,

I wanted to post a couple of pictures of my new Lyptus Fire 3/4" solid hardwood flooring. It is factory finished (no sanding or poly in the house). When I was trying to decide on a floor, there was very little about this wood and few photos online. I thought it would be good to have some pictures and reference on this board since so much is covered here. I love the floor! Made from Eucalyptus wood which is a "green" option because it replenishes itself quickly.

I think it's beautiful. I saw it online somewhere...and thought I would like it and I do. Is it harder than Oak??

Thank you Jean. It is supposedly harder than oak. It's brand new but I'm optimistic!

I dislike this type of wood very much. Dents easily and is not harder than oak as they proclaim. I highly don't recommend this wood. I am going to check my warranty and see if I have anyway to get my money back or at least something. Had my floors for a little over 3 years now and it tears me up inside every time I walk on it. Scratches, dents, splintering wood because it grabbed your sock. How ridiculous. The person who indicated in another forum that you can't drop a remote on it or it dents is not over exaggerating. Stay away from lyptus.
