What's the best flooring for us?

minneapolisiteApril 13, 2012

We are building a new house with an open floor plan in Minnesota.

I would like a flooring that would allow me to wear my "outdoor" shoes in the kitchen, so I can easily walk in/out of the garage. My husband likes the look of hardwood. Thoughts?

I say you should consider handscraped or distressed wood flooring with lower sheen UV oiled finish.

Tile, I think. But outdoor shoes inside just make grit and dirt you'd constantly have to clean why not just get slip on/off shoes?
