12VDC Power supply

davestexasFebruary 27, 2013

I need a 12vdc power supply at my shop bench for testing car radios and other 12vdc car components. Using the car battery is what I've been doing but it's a lot of trouble. A 12vdc supply at the bench would be much better, but I"m not sure what I really as to output. Something under $50 would be great. Any advice/info will be appreciated. I live in Austin Tx

A 12v motorcycle battery would be enough for a radio, but not a starter. An inexpensive trickle charger could keep it topped off.

Thanks. Since the post, I found what will do the job at the local Fry's electronics store. Under $50 too.
