5' vs 3' pre finished Jatoba planks

wanttogardenApril 15, 2011

We finally decided on pre finised smooth natural Brazilian Cherry. I don't know the sheen, it is not super glossy but it is not matte either.

Now I cannot decide on plank width. It is for a 500 sqft area: two 10x10 bedrooms, 16x18 mBR and a hallway 20x3. Should I go wide to be trendy or 3" to get more color variation?

Thank you,

Personally, I prefer 3" in a smaller room. I'm planning to have wood flooring stalled in two small rooms (total 380 sq.ft.)and will definitely go with 3". But the selection seems to be limited for prefinished, engineered in this width.
